New v2 zl modules

HP Introduces 10 new modules based on generation-5 ProVision architecture. These new v2 zl modules support Energy Efficient Ethernet (IEEE 802.3az) on gigabit ports, offer hardware support for PBR, improve performance and drastically reduce power consumption. In order to realize the benefits from these new modules, no upgrades are needed to the chassis, fabric modules or the management module on E8200 & E5400.

10G Modules

Three new 10G modules help double the density and offer space efficient solutions for adding uplink redundancy within the chassis:

Improved performance

The new v2 zl modules offer up to 62% performance improvement over v1 zl modules on E8200 Switches. With the new modules, E8212 can deliver performance greater than 1Tbps as shown below. In order to realize the performance improvements, no additional hardware other than the new interface modules is required. These new solutions, outperform the competitive offerings as can be seen from the independent Tolly report.
