The HP 5900AF series is a family of high port density 10GbE ultra-low latency ToR switches. The 5900AF series is part of the FlexFabric solution module of HP FlexNetwork architecture. The 5900AF series ushers the arrival of the world’s first virtualized server access network. Built on open industry standards, the 5900AF set new benchmarks for performance, low-latency, reliability, scalability and greener 2-tier data center networks.

• Intelligent Resilient Framework (IRF): HP IRF technology enables HP FlexFabric to deliver resilient, scalable and secured DC networks for physical and virtualized environments. Up to four HP 5900AF switches can be configured and managed together as a single virtual switch with one IP address. That simplifies ToR deployment and management reducing DC OpEx
• Convergence Support: The HP 5900AF can be deployed as a high performance IP switch with industry-leading low latency. Thanks to its support for Data Center bridging (DCB) protocol; it is ready to handle storage traffic on lossless links. The HP 5900AF will also handle FCoE traffic (future feature) in converged server edge environments
